Yokohama Bay
Yokohama Bay is a gorgeous and secluded beach area on the west shore of Oahu. It’s a very rugged location composed of a wide beach stretched between two rocky points. It’s a beautiful and quiet spot for Hawaii engagement photography.
Accessing the area requires a bit of a drive and some hiking. Yokohama Bay is about an hour’s drive from Honolulu airport, so careful planning is essential. If you are not from the island, you will also need to rent a car as transportation to the area might be a bit of a challenge.
Depending on the condition of the waves, you can expect to see some surfers in the area or some fishermen casting their lines. Swimming is not recommended in this area as the waves can get big, and there is a steep drop off which can be dangerous if you aren’t used to it. However, it’s a great place to visit if you would like to see a beautiful and secluded white sand beach.
An engagement session in Yokohama Bay would require careful planning and preparation. We would recommend having your dress and makeup completely done before leaving for the area so you can be able to maximize the location and the time spent there.
The sunsets on Yokohama bay can be epic and stunning so it would also be a good idea to plan your schedule around the sunset to get beautiful sunset photography.
