Nanakuli Beach Park, Waianae

Nanakuli Beach Park stretches across 4 acres. It features a beautiful white sand beach, a huge grassy park, with the Pohakunui Cove with its beautiful black rocks a very short walk away. This beach is about a 30 minute drive away from Honolulu proper, making it very accessible. You will find that this beach is frequented mostly by locals and is almost never crowded. This beach also boasts of a beautiful sunset and golden hour images for Hawaii engagement photography.

Swimming is discouraged in this area during certain times of the year due to hazardous conditions. Currents can be strong but lifeguards are there and can be asked about current conditions. The west side of Oahu can also be very hot so it’s a good idea to bring plenty of water and sunscreen.

Parking is also plentiful in this area, making it very convenient and you can easily choose a parking lot closest to where you would like to go. Either side of the park also has rocks which can be a great place for photography. For outfit changes, there are restrooms and showers located on the premises, making it easy to make outfit changes if desired.

Nanakuli Beach Park is a beautiful location and perfect if you’d like a to have your engagement session on a beach or grassy area without many tourists or crowds. There is plenty of space available in the area so it’s easy to find a secluded and quiet spot.
